Kineon MOVE+ Pro Review: Is It Worth It for Your Knees and Joints?
The short answer
The Kineon MOVE+ Pro is worth it if you want a knee that feels better. The benefit people notice most is knee comfort, followed by shoulder relief and faster recovery after training. Most of them felt a difference within 1 to 3 weeks of daily 15 minute sessions. You wear it while you work or watch TV. It's our pick for daily light therapy on a knee.

The basics
What the Kineon MOVE+ Pro is for
The Kineon MOVE+ Pro is a wearable light therapy device for joints. Three small modules clip into a strap that wraps around your knee. Each module shines red and near infrared light into the joint from a different side.
What the research shows
A 2019 meta-analysis pooled 22 placebo-controlled trials with 1,063 adults with long-term knee pain from joint wear. Near infrared laser at 785 to 860 nm reduced pain and improved function. The effect kept growing for 2 to 4 weeks after the last session.[1]
Kineon's lasers work at 808 nm, inside that range. Those trials used clinic lasers. The MOVE+ Pro puts the same wavelength into a device you wear at home, every day.
Kineon sells it under two names. Its store calls it MOVE+ LED & Laser, and its spec sheet calls it MOVE+ Pro. It's one device.
The science
Red and near infrared, LED and laser: what each one does
The MOVE+ Pro uses two kinds of light. Each one has a job.
| Red LEDs | Near infrared lasers | |
|---|---|---|
| Wavelength | 660 nm | 808 nm |
| Per module | 8 | 10 |
| What it reaches | Skin and surface tissue | Muscles, tendons, and the joint area |
660 nm red light is absorbed close to the surface. It supports the energy production of the cells in your skin and the tissue just under it.
808 nm near infrared light travels further. In a study on human tissue, near infrared light passed through soft tissue and bone, while red light stayed near the surface.[2]
Lasers and LEDs differ in how they deliver light. A laser sends it in a narrow, concentrated beam. An LED spreads it wider. Researchers find that the dose, meaning wavelength, power, and time, matters more than the source.[3] Most of the knee trials used lasers at 785 to 860 nm.[1] Kineon combines both: LEDs to cover the surface and lasers at a wavelength studied for the knee.

What stands out
Three highlights
- A wavelength studied for the knee. The 808 nm lasers sit in the 785 to 860 nm range that reduced knee pain in clinical trials.[1] Of the wraps we compare below, only Kineon and PRUNGO use lasers.
- A routine you keep. It's cordless and hands-free. You wear it at your desk or on the sofa. One charge gives about 24 sessions of 10 minutes, about three weeks of daily knee sessions.
- Fast support when something breaks. Users who had a strap or module fail say Kineon replaced it quickly, often within 48 hours, in some cases after the warranty ended.

Results
What you can expect
The result people notice most is a more comfortable knee. It shows up after old injuries, after surgery, and with years of wear on the joint.
- A more comfortable knee. The most common result by far. Everyday movement, and even kneeling, feels easier.
- Faster recovery after training. Your legs feel ready sooner between runs, lifting sessions, or matches. See how it works in red light therapy for muscle recovery.
- An easier return to sport. Many get back to running, lifting, skiing, or tennis.
- Relief beyond the knee. The shoulder comes next, followed by the back and neck, the ankle and foot, and the elbow, wrist, and hand.
- Support during rehab. Alongside physical therapy after a knee or shoulder operation.

Body areas
Where do you want to use it?

Knee
The area it's built for, and the result people mention most. Place the three modules on different sides of the joint.

Shoulder
The second area people mention most, including after surgery. The strap runs across the shoulder and upper back.

Lower back
Place the modules over the area that bothers you. We recommend the extender strap for the lower back and hips.

Elbow and wrist
The strap closes snugly around the forearm. Point the modules at the elbow or the wrist.

Ankle and foot
Wrap it around the ankle, with a module over the Achilles if that's the area that bothers you.
Who uses it. Adults in their 60s, 70s, and 80s who want to stay active. Runners, CrossFit athletes, skiers, and tennis and pickleball players. Physical therapists and chiropractors, who use it with their clients.

Battery in real life
Days between charges with one session a day
Kineon and PRUNGO with a 15 minute session. FlexBeam with its 10 minute program.
Kineon vs PRUNGO
PRUNGO is the closest match. Both combine lasers and LEDs in three modules. The difference is the battery. Kineon runs about 24 sessions per charge. PRUNGO runs about 75 minutes. With a daily 15 minute session, Kineon goes about two weeks between charges and PRUNGO about five days. Kineon also has five times more reviews on Trustpilot, with a higher score. PRUNGO gives you a 2 year warranty and sessions up to 20 minutes. Reviewers of PRUNGO mention charging bases that stopped holding a charge.
FlexBeam vs Kineon
FlexBeam uses LEDs only. Kineon adds lasers at the wavelength used in knee trials. FlexBeam's battery sits in a separate pod and lasts 5 to 9 sessions. Kineon builds it into each module and lasts about 24. Both score 4.5 on Trustpilot. FlexBeam wins on warranty: 5 years on the device and 2 on the battery. Some FlexBeam reviewers say the straps wore out within weeks.
SunPowerLED vs Kineon
SunPowerLED doesn't make a wrap. Its closest device is the Palm Professional, a corded wand you hold on each area for 1 to 3 minutes per wavelength. It's strong and it covers any part of the body. Kineon wraps the joint and works while you do something else. For a knee you treat every day, the wrap is easier to keep up.
Our pick
The Kineon MOVE+ Pro. It pairs lasers in the range studied for the knee with the longest battery of the three wraps, and knee comfort is what its users mention most.
Is it for you
Who should buy it
We recommend the Kineon MOVE+ Pro if:
- Your knee holds you back from something you enjoy. Walking the dog, a round of golf, a tennis match, or kneeling in the garden. Knee comfort is the benefit users mention most.
- You train hard and want to recover faster. Runners, CrossFit athletes, and skiers use it between sessions and before training.
- You're getting back on your feet after an injury or an operation. Physical therapists and chiropractors among the reviewers use it with their clients. Check with yours first.
- You want a routine that fits into a busy day. You wear it during a call, at your desk, or on a flight.
Good to know
What could be better
- Each module turns on by itself. Remember to press all three buttons at the start of each session.
- The light is always pulsed. There's no continuous mode.
- The dock needs a wall outlet. It has no battery of its own.
- The strap fits the knee best. For hips or the lower back, we recommend the extender strap.
- Straps and clips can wear out with heavy use. Users say Kineon replaced them free and fast.
- The warranty is 1 year. PRUNGO offers 2 years and FlexBeam 5.
